I found a 79' TransAm on it's way(literally-on the ramp truck) to the scrapyard and bought it instantly.Turns out it's a 37K mile one-owner car with no rot anywhere on it. That's where my screen name comes from.
I know-This Post Is Useless Without Pics!! I'm a computer neanderthal and am hoving no luck with my Photobucket account. I'll see what I can do-

Heard about this car from a friend of a family member, and found it covered up with heavy tarps behind a horse barn in Santa Rosa. Had sat there since 1980. Amazingly, three of the tires held air. I still have it, it is currently in slot #3, in project purgatory. Dig that sexy tape stripe job!

Found this one several years ago, in an overgrown lot. original red 4 speed car. it had a '70 LT1 sitting in it. The line on the hood (faintly visible in the pic) is from someone launching the fan through the hood. I yanked the LT1 and sold it and the car separately.

While i dont have pictures i have a few stories.

      1. I was looking for houses a few years back. I was out in a remote part of our city and was driving by this old beat the hell up house when somthing cought my eye. It was yellow and was hanging out of a garage, covered in garbage. With a little further investigation i found out its a 69' Super Bee. According to my source, who lives behind him and over a couple houses, its all there including the original drivetrain and this guy is going to "fix it up someday." Im not trying to be mean but thats BS, the guy cant even keep his house up and its literally covered in garbage. Supposedly it was this guys first car etc etc etc and he WONT let it go. All i could see was the rear 3' or so hanging out so i cant somment on the cars shape personally. To my knowledge its still there.....

      2. A buddy of mine Brad was out mushroom hunting probably 7 years ago or so. He came across a barn that was wout in the middle of what appeared to be nowhere. Him being a little nosey he took a look to see what was inside. To his shock sat a 65' GTO up on blocks and covered in what looked like decades of dirt. He found the nearest farm house and went to ask about the building, its was theirs. He got the unfortunately sad story from some people
{relatives} that the cars owner had gone to Veitnam and never came home. They drove the car for a while, it broke and they just put it away because they didnt want to part with it. He asked if they wasnted to part with it now and they said yeah they would. He ended up with an original #'s matching 65' GTO tri power, 4 speed car out of the deal.

      3. I know where theres a 69' Camaro that has literally sat in a clean storage barn for at least 10 years untouched. I used to store my Nova out there and it has never moved. This car is CLEAN. Like it got a complete ground up rotisserie resto and hasnt been touched since. Its nothing special i think it has 307 emblems on it? {I didnt know they came with 307's} I asked the storage shed guy about it and he said the owner wont even take calls about selling it. The bad part is it looks like its starting to get moldy and gross in the interior.

      4. I did work to a guys house about 5 years ago. He was kind of out on an acreage and had some room. Filling up this acreage was a 66 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed car and a 70 SS chevelle. I dont know if he would sell them or not but my guess is no. I didnt bother asking becuase i didnt have the money at the time and it would have been un professional. They look like theyve been there since shep was a pup....

Why wont people let stuff like this, the camaro and that super bee go? They could get good money for them and they arent ever going to do anything with it....

Kinda the same type story as Novaguy. There is a man that lives near me that has his backyard full of old Mopars. I know there are 2 '69 Chargers, a '69 383 Superbee, some Roadrunners, Dusters, etc. Any of them would need a MAJOR resto job to get the bodies decent again. I asked about one of the Chargers one time. He said which one. I asked about the better of the two and he said I won't let that one go for less than $20K. The other (which looked like someone took a chainsaw to the roof) I could've had for $12K. I know Mopars are nuts on prices, but these were $5K and $3K cars respectively max. That was about 10 years ago. All the cars are still there but hidden by brush and bushes now. No telling the condition at this point. I never have understood why people are like this.
      Looking for a new project

My dad parked this 1969 Charger in a barn in 1980 (shortly after I was born).
      The good news:
-Car was from the southwest (AZ or NM)
      -All original 383/727 S/E w air
I have pics of it in the original barn, then when I was 14 I oiled the cylinders and moved it to a dry barn. I don't have those pics handy, but here are current pics (now awaiting restoration in my back garage).

      The bad news:
-He parked it after sliding out of a corner due to a fresh coat of cow manure (thanks unnamed farmer). It took out the driver's side quarter and door.
-The original barn was sort of damp, causing a rust free southwest car to develop surface rust, and rotted the bottom of the passenger quarter due to a roof leak and old weatherstripping.

Still, I feel pretty lucky to have it.
Though I wish he would have put away his 1966 396 4 speed Chevelle SS instead...

ok, not a barn, but stored in the garage for 25 years, from an owner who bought it in *1968*.
i changed oils, plugs and gas, fuel and water pumps, and had 4000+ solid miles with no issues. (327, 4barrel, PG) Even drove it 5.5 hrs one-way to Gingerman event,...top down of course!

I know it's not as desirable as most barn finds but when I bought my T/A it had been sitting in a 1/2 open barn for 13 years. Some surface rust on this side but the rest was solid

I stuck a battery in it, topped up the fluids and it started up first turn! This is after a new set of tires and a lot of cleaning

Still had the original 301 turbo and trans with 70k kms on it.

The interior cleaned up well and the build sheet was still under the rear seat!
