So I took my daily driver down the street to the do-it-yourself car wash last night. That was fun. Can I deduct the $5.25 I spent from my water bill? Should I pay my water bill in quarters next time?
You apparently have bad neighbors, because everyone on our street washes there cars, lawn mowers, whatever. Heck when I wash mine my kids help and the hose never turns off, because they spray each other, the driveway or whatever is close and never anything said. I would be finding out who wants to report you and have a friendly talk with them.

There's usually one in every bunch that likes to spoil the party. I guess this particular neighbor might be tired of the loud exhausts coming from my garage (despite infrequent use and my best attempts to not start them late at night). There's a 'for sale' sign at that house, so it's just a matter of time. Hopefully, we'll return to normal with the water use soon as well.

I may have your problem figured out. Go outside butt naked, stand in the back of your pickup with a bar of soap and a water hose and tell your neighbors your taking a shower. Better yet take some plastic fill the bed of your truck with water and tell them your going to take a bath, or that your filling up your swimming pool.
That, should give your neighbors and city officials something to talk about. lol

I just thought I'd close this out by posting that the county did relax the water restrictions and residential car washing is now allowed once per week.
