Sweet nice job. I need to do something. I'm having such a hard time getting started. My doctor said he would recomend me for bypass if I want , but I'm a stress eater so I don't know if I would stick to it. I know that would cause big problems. Glad to see your doing well. Wayne

I am 6'1" goal weight is 235 but there is almost always 20 pound bounce back weight. Plus at some point I can loose 20-30 pounds of skin should I want to have that surgery.

Motown I also was a stress eater EMO eater plus I was hungry all the time lol. Let me tell you something about this surgery. I have to frce myself to remember to eat or I could go all day with no calories... Which oddly slows down weight loss... Im forcing about 900-1000 calories now and Ive resorted to Protein shots (44G protein in a 3oz drink) and protein bars to get the required amount of protein... So far food is last on my list of things to do. i have to work on that but Im feeling good.

Lexustech You asked awhile ago about my knees and heel yea my knees and ankles feel better. My legs are strong (from carrying the weight) and with less weight on them I can walk forever now. I maxxed out the "seated leg press" resistance thing @370# And do 275# on the calf machine... I dont do free weights yet because Im a bit clumsy.

      Very much so.

I got sick of lookin at myself at 235. So far I'm down to 219 headed for my "normal" weight of ~185.

Ain't easy, but it sounds like you are doing a great job!!!

Half way there, way to go!! I had a friend get the gastric bypass a month ago. He said before the surgery he was soo hungry, all he could think of was fries, cheeseburgers and shakes. He came out and has no appetite. Sees a commercial for food and doesn't think twice. There is as much mental change as anything it seems with the surgery. That can sometimes be the difference maker. I know I have to be real determined to work out every day.

Again, congrats. I am sure your knees will continue to thank you!

The only time food is last on my list is if I'm busy doing something. For the last ten years I've needed a hip replacement. The wouldn't do it because I was too young. They finally did it the end of May. for 6 weeks I felt great but it was too early to start any exercise . The mix of meds I was on gave me the gout until last week. It finally cleared .I started waking . I hope I can do this. I had to quit working construction ( which iI could barely do anymore ) I'm hoping It helps me. It must have been a big dicision to get it done.

I haven't known anyone personally that went through that type of surgery. I'll be praying for your continued success. Sounds like you are on the right track, and like someone stated earlier, your knees will thank you.
My Mom just had one of her knees replaced, she has been battling her weight for most of her adult life.
