Of course its common knowledge Holliday had a Cards connection already working out with Skip Schumaker and Mark McGwire. What wasn't common knowledge was this: Jason Stark of ESPN reported today that Mac messed up Holliday's mechanics pretty bad when he changed them during their workouts and that was the reason for his slow start. Holliday ended up abandoning Big Mac's ideas. I like though how Holliday hasn't whined about it publicly being someone elses fault for his slow start.
