      Another Project Car / Boat?

Picked this up from my wife's uncle - he had 5 of them in his barn plus all the parts to put it back together. No Rust! Sat for 20 years.

Very interesting car...uhhh, i mean boat... umm, floaty thingy that you can drive on the street.

How far off is it from using it?

Do I see some mods in the future for this? Hummm, how about an all aluminum small block with a #6 out drive? Twin turbo Supra engine? Talk about a sleeper.

it's actually not in bad shape, but I can go two ways: full restore down to the metal and seal it up right or just fix the slight body damage and put it back together.

This has a triumph engine in it, so it could use the old webber carbs, HP cam and clutch, and other parts.

I'd rather restore this to original.

They sold one on Barrett Jackson like 2 years ago for $125k.

This only has 8000 miles on it.

personally i'd restore to origenal and sale to a collector. those cars are a piece of history for the simple fact that they are not practicle in any way. but on the other hand in the 50 years since they were new there would be alot of ways to improve on the design. ie better flotation materials lighter body panels could be made and smaller, lighter higher hp motors have been made. think of the smart cars with the hyabusa motors. could be really cool just have to use lots of carbon fiber and aluminium

Those things are really really cool.

If the parts are there I'd assemble and sell as many complete versions as you can.

But keep one and put an LSx under the hood and a jet-drive under it.

They give rides in 3 of those every year here at a car show along the river. Very cool! Congrats on a great score!
