Thanks so much to David and Tammy, (extra thanks to Tammy for the cake!) Event Coordinator Jeff Tate, and of course Uncle Bill Howell for bringing the autocross! It was awesome as usual guys!

Thats wasn't the "im soiling myself" look. That was the "I hope the door latch holds and I don't go flying out" look Notice my arm squeezing that door shut as my life depended on it. Glen said, "Don't worry, it has never opened on its own. I don't think it will. Just don't lean on it." Easier said than done my friend.

Unfortunately I didn't get to make it out on Friday, or to the drag strip on Sat, but I did get to the show in Canton at the very end of the night. I met Jim & Jeff, and they convinced me to go the autocross.

I showed up without a car of my own, but was able to mooch a ride in Glen's Cobra. It was during the spirited track drying laps. Wicked ride! If only my stupid a$$ wouldn't have been so excited about the ride only to brainlessly set the back of my leg straight onto the exhaust while exiting the car. OUCH! Who needs skin anyways.

It was great to meet everyone and to see these rides in person. I would highly recommend to everyone, even without a car of their own, to make it out to the next event. It was a great time.

Thank you to David Sloan, Jeff Tate, and all the others that helped to put on this event. This is exactly the kind of weekend that I needed after finishing my spring semester.

The drag strip action was very frustrating. I think when they prepped the track they must have grabbed the WD40 spray bottle instead of the VHT. The track hooked worse than the street! I managed to slide my way to a 8.44 @ 94MPH with a 2.1 60' time. On an 1/8 mile track it is all about the launch. Many cars had the potential to beat my time, but it didn't happen. Ron hot lapped his lightweight Mustang and got a 8.5x pass. Payton's yellow 69 Camaro trapped over 100 mph! That is hauling a$$.

On the autocross we all managed to get in 4 laps before the rain stopped the fun. As I recall my last 3 laps were all in the 30.0x second range. Mark's ran the best lap of the day with a 27.8x lap. That car is very cool with its modern driveline, extensive body mods, and IRS from a Nissan 350Z. Well done!

I hope this trend of smaller regional events catches on. I would love to see smaller gatherings being organized all around the country. Groups of fewer than 20 cars are relatively easy to manage and accommodate.

Considering the standings, I couldn't wait for someone else to do the spreadsheet of autocross times... Too bad the top three spots went to one person.

Check the license plate. It's an S10! I gotta get me a new grille insert REAL SOON!

I am also with Andrew in saying that we need to have more of these - even if it is just 15+ cars! I had an awesome time and as always seeing all those sweet rides got the wheels turning in my brain for more mods.

Thanks David, Tammy, Bill, Jeff, etc... You guys put on an awesome event and I'm happy to have participated. And I'm pretty excited the oil pressure stayed above zero and got me home... Let's do it again real soon!
