      LS7 Clutch for LS2?

I can buy a brand new LS7 clutch/ p-p off a crate motor getting an auto trans for $300. Looking for anyone's experience with this clutch. Motor upgrades will max out at heads and cam but is stock now and is in a 69 Camaro. Thanks, Erik

Will do you just fine unless you plan a lot of sticky tire high rpm launches. For street/fun driving, it'll be good.

you may want to check to see if you need the flywheel too. I recall seeing the flywheel swap was needed to use the ls7 clutch on the ls1, not sure on the ls2....

Thanks for the input. I should have clarified I think. This engine/trans and stock GTO clutch has only 8K miles on it, am I gaining anything with the LS7 clutch or will the stock one in there do just fine for me. Thanks again!

I seem to remember that a stock clutch was good until about 400 Rear wheel HP and the LS7 was good until about 500. You will need the LS7 flywheel to use this clutch.
I am using this clutch and flywheel in my LS2 69 camaro and have no complaints.

LS7 flywheel? Mine is an LS2 flywheel using a LS7 clutch package. This is the common swap for cars that are LS1 equiped.

If the current engine is an LS2 I don't see why an LS7 flywheel would be needed.

The LS7 is the best clutch option for 500HP to 550HP and less LS motors

Sorry, my setup is out of a GTO. I think the flywheels are different from the Vettes. In my case, with the information I got from LS1GTO.com, I had to change the flywheel.

It looks like a GTO LS2 flywheel, like I have, is different from a Corvette LS2 flywheel which is why I need it.

If I get the whole deal for $300, good deal, yeah?

That's a great deal for $300. When I got my LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel a few years ago, I think I paid $550 for it. I have had no problems with mine, and it dyno'd out at close to 550 rwhp. Driveability is excellent as well with no chatter and a very light pedal. I think it's a good investment for a H/C car. Buy it!
