I have an 850 mighty demon I bought from JEGS. I have not had any problems. For the price of 549 you cannot beat it in my opinion. I have had holleys, carb shop carbs, da vinci carbs you name it, right out of the box the BG carb worked and I have not had one problem.

Barry Grant Tech support is also very good and I have never had a problem. I worked on a Top Dragster (IHRA) a few years ago and it had split dominators on it. We thought we had an issue but it turned out to be electronics and not the carb itself, they helped us through the troubleshooting of that too!

I am not saying this was your problem but I would be very hesitant when buying things from an ebay site even if they say it is brand new. I can spray my carb out clean it up and put it in the box and say it is new and know one would know except me.

My engine machinist recommended I disassemble and inspect my Demon 750 before start up. He has and numerous carbs with shavings inside out of the box.

its already been taken apart and looked at by the carb shop. i buy a $600 carb, then pay $300 for the carb shop to look at it and i still have isues with an eratic idle.

set the idle at 900... rev it up... idles at 1200... get out of the car lightly press on the linkage... idle is back at 900... remove the return spring... idle shoots up to 1200 again.

go for a quick drive and pull up to a stop with a fast 1000+ prm idle.

its not fun. also, this thing needs to be tuned on a daily basis depending on how warm it is outside. im just over it.
I love my 750 vac sec demon but now that you mention it I have a fluctuation in idle speeds too.
