That motor is something else! Just wondering how much that "Hogan's Racing Manifolds" set you back. This is an exciting build thread!

The SOHC is one of the baddest motors ever produced. Wanted one for my 65 Fastback back in the late-70's, could have gotten one for $3500 that needed a rebuild...Have fun with that one!

WOW!!! It's funny how a normal sized TB seems SOOO tinny. That has got to cost a pretty penny.

Is that one of the new Dove casting head set ups? Do they have one running yet? Did you dyno set up?? I wanted one but they were a little new and untested when I was engine shopping.

I think the 4.6 DOHC is actually wider?

Awesome set up but I miss the old valve covers.

dove block and heads...yep run in with a 2x4 setup due to fi electronics not being present when it was run in. No problems that I know of. Kurt Neighbor built the engine as well as another FE we have goinig.

Kurt Neighbor, still the driver of the World’s Quickest Production-Engined Ford Funny Car at 6.48 seconds, swapped his homebuilt SOHC 427 into this outrageous ‘65 Comet Cyclone. Although he lost in A/FX class eliminations despite 9.40/140 and only lasted two rounds in the eliminator, the Ohioan who created the DOVE engine enjoyed the weekend after winning a Viper V-10 powerplant as a door prize!

What an awsome engine, I love those. My DOHC modular engine is wider than the FE SOHC. I saw that Comet run in IL fast car!!
