      Dumped My Bike

It had been raining. I was going to fast around a sweeping curve and the bike started to get squirrly and I grabbed WAY to much front brake and the bike went out from under me. I ended up in trama. The only damage I recieved was my gear getting torn up, my left leg is all road rash, my left knee is sprained, and the rest of my body is just sore. I am very lucky.
So just a reminder to everyone who rides, Be Careful.

Good to see you made it out ok!

With that said, I hate people on these sportbikes. They all drive way too fast around here.

I'd love to have a bike like that myself, but I know that I'd either kill myself or get killed by someone not paying attention in their car, so I just stay away. Like I said man, I'm glad you came out ok! I don't want anyone to get hurt, just want them to slow down, same goes for the people weaving through traffic cutting me off in their Toyotas, Audis, BMWs, etc

Good to hear your ok...from the picture, bike seems like it may be a easy fix, new plastics, mirror, and tail piece. I'd put the bike up for the fall and winter, and get back to the body work on the G-Body.

The Bike will likely be totalled. $2000 in plastics need to be replaced. The swing arm, sub frame, forks, and rear coliover are bent. She is alot worse in person.

I have felt the same way for the last 35 years. A friend in high school gave me a ride on his then new Honda 450 twin ('70 - '71?) and even let me take it for a spin by myself. It felt great but even during a short spin it became apparent that far too many people in cars just don't see you.

GLAD YOU HAD YOUR GEAR ON!!!

sucks that it happened of course. it's good to here you got away with 'minimal' personal damage.
I've had a few incidents myself and have been similarly lucky but with a trashed bike to show for it. (beware the dragon and also beware of slick tires and slanted roads in the rain!)

      Godspeed in healing man!

Glad to hear you're okay... sadly, I'm too used to hearing about guys that don't fair well.

BTW, I personally love bikes... I love their engineering, I love their looks, I love their performance, I love their compactness, etc... thing is I won't own or ride one. For me, it's not how many wheels it has, it's about how many doors its got.

Glad to hear you are OK.

I had a very similar incident. I was just amazed at how fast and far the bike skidded across the pavement--just seemed to slide forever...Luckily my skin brought me to a stop.

Thank God for helmets also. Any skid marks on the helmet?
