      i use this anvil type thing, you stick the connector or end under an anvil that has a point on it. It holds it all together, while you put it on the floor and bang it with a hammer, crimps it like no other. They are like $25, try any electrical supply place like terminal supply.

      I would also solder / heat shrink when done.
      Use a propane torch...And some Silver content solder for the best connection.
