Don't blame you for being PO'd man...the total lack of at least the courtesy of communication would gall me to no end.

I understand that Budnik might be having an issues with the hoop mfg, but that has been their excuse for the last two years. When I first started my project a couple years back I was going to order a set of Budniks until I heard how bad they lagged. Just cancel your orders, call your credit card company, and dispute the charges on the deposit you put down. Maybe once they see that people wont put up with the BS they will step up and fix the problems.

I will agree with the no response would not sit well with me. We have been Budniks leading dealer for about the last 8-9 months now, and before this issue wheels were being delivered in 6-8 weeks. The wait is not good for sure. I hope they get caught up soon makes life much easier on us as well.

I waited 13 weeks for my Budniks a year or so ago and we are a dealer. Wasnt a big deal as they were by far the best deal for the money out there at that time. I also just got a set of 15x6 ralley wheels from Coker that actually came from Wheel Vintique and they took 8 weeks. I think we can all agree that chevy ralley wheels are not custom or exotic so you just never know what the delay is. I like to give the mfg's the benefit of the doubt and be as patient as I can. When I think of the homeless people I pass everday on the street and Armed Forces being killed in the middle east, waiting on my wheels or other parts does not seem like that big of a deal to me personally.

I totally hear what you're saying. A delay in a lot of cases, and in my case, isn't a big deal. Also, as with your order, they did offer me a fairly competitive price, so the delay is something I can deal with. I'm just trying to let potentional buyers out there know what to expect should they choose Budnik as some of these buyers might be putting together a car for a customer or a show and have a deadline to keep. Delays that can be counted in several weeks and even months can become a real issue for some, and so they should at least know what to expect should they plunk down a deposit with Budnik.

Also, some people might want to deal with a company who actually calls their customers back on simple status inquiries and things like that. We do have a choice thankfully and if they continue to flat out not return my calls than that's just a real lack of common courtesy to a customer and I'll definitely cancel my order. They simply wouldn't have earned the thousands of dollars I plan to spend with them.

We're more than happy to help if/when that time comes. Plus PRRC is running a sale on the Rushforth Wheels right now, so you might want to get in on that and actually get your wheels in 4 weeks. At this rate, might still be faster than what you might have continued to wait. (i.e. Budnik might be longer than 4 weeks from now still... who knows??)

      Only getting worse with Budnik

Things are looking worse with Budnik. They once again didn't return my call from Friday morning so I called this morning at 11am and they said everybody was already at lunch and they'd call me back after lunch. They never called. They weren't answering their phone late this afternoon(maybe they left early or actually never came back from lunch), and now Budnik.com isn't even available. This business is exhibiting some bad signs. I don't know if this is consistent behavior as some have commented, but regardless, I think I'll drive up to their place tomorrow or Wednesday and cancel my order in person if I don't get a phone call back tomorrow with some sort of definitive answer. Hopefully there won't be a "Business closed indefinitely" sign on their door when I get there! I just can't believe these guys do business this way. Very sad to see. They have a quality product so maybe they have so many customers that they don't give a **** if they lose a few. Who knows.

Tim, Thanks for caring for us on the boards. I am on week 10 starting 11. They haven't even returned any calls that they promised me. They were supposed to email me a ship date. They told me for the last two weeks that they will ship on Friday. Come following Monday... still no word on shipping. If I had a call returned, or a email. I would be happy but, it seems that they prefer that no contact is better.

Sam, Your wheels have a ship date of Aug 13th. Jay is checking to see were they are in process. He is trying to push them through a little quicker for you. Also the biggest problem is the widening of the rears. Most all mfg. out source them so in turn they are waiting also to have the cut and rewelded.

Aug 13th? That is like a month and a half. They were supposed to be done and waiting on polish 2 weeks ago. Did they not even get built? So, I am supposed to wait 17 weeks for rims?

Just got off the phone with Jay. He told me my wheels were shipping today. According to him the Aug 13th date, is not right. I sure hope he is telling me the right information. I about cancelled if the delivery was supposed to be Aug 13th.

Geez, there's a man that gets results! I agree, communication is a big thing, but if I can't get them to communicate with me because I'm 'a small fry', than it's a bit more difficult. It's strange that their story went from:

"Sam, Your wheels have a ship date of Aug 13th. Jay is checking to see were they are in process. He is trying to push them through a little quicker for you. Also the biggest problem is the widening of the rears. Most all mfg. out source them so in turn they are waiting also to have the cut and rewelded."

      To:

      "Your wheels are shipping today."

That's quite a change in status. I wonder what I'll have to bring when I show up at their door tomorrow to get that kind of change in status? lolz

I hope Sam's wheels actually shipped today. That's very nice of you to help him out.

I thought I'd give it one more shot with the phone and call and I 'got lucky' and had a chance to talk with Jim today. He said he had actually sent my paperwork(along with some others) down to the shop this morning to see where my wheels were at. He reminded me that my wheels are a custom width that require narrowing. Yes, thank you Jim, I know that. I then reminded him that he wrote an ETA of 8 weeks on my order and that was 12.5 weeks ago and more recently told me 14 days ago that my wheels would be ready in 7 to 9 days. So, anyway, we had a chance to remind each other about a few things during a cordial chat. He said he'd call me back today regardless of whether he heard something or not. I then mentioned, "Now Jim, do you promise to return my call, because your company is 0 for 5 on returning my calls." He 'promised', so we'll see. I still plan on stopping by their building tomorrow as I'll be in the area picking up some parts from Classic Industries.

Actually I do call customers back , I emailed sam and told him his wheels were in polish and that I would let him know soon as they were out. He knew our build time was 8-10 weeks. Jon can comunicate easier with his customers cause he doesnt have close to the amount of phone calls we do daily.

I am sorry for any confusion I may have caused on this thread. I hope everyone enjoys their projects. I am sure I will love the Budnik wheels. I am looking forward to getting this all behind me and moving on with other aspects of my build. Thanks for all who helped, encouraged and were concerned. Hopefully this will help the next person have a better relationship with the manufacturer on any product purchased. There was email conversation. I can't deny that. What didn't happen was a answer to the delivery date. That didn't happen till today.
