Dyno Runs - Questions
I went down to the Dyno Shop this past weekend and talked to the guy who runs the place. I told him I was interested in getting my car on the Dyno and trying out a couple different carburetors (750 vs 850) - Jet them to see which makes more power.
I know typically dyno pulls are done across the entire rpm range - Idle up to like 6800 RPM or so...
My engine is fresh and only has a couple hundred miles on it. I am somewhat leary of blasting it above 5500rpm. What have you guys done historically in the past when you have a fresh engine? Do you just tell the guy to take it easy on the motor? I assume you have to hit WOT and go through the entire range to get some good numbers.
Anyone else put their new engine on the dyno and have the same feeling? Guess I am looking for some folks on here that have had some experience with this.
