Your Olds is super cool! I have a 62 F85 but I'm trying to finish another project before I start work on it.

Okay guys, I've been really busy and not making many posts on here. Paul and I have been really working hard making changes to this car. We decided to pull the the 455 Olds big block and move to LS power. A few details are:

Engine: LS6, Diamond forged pistons and Callies forged rods: 9.5 to 1 CR
      Magnacharger TVS2300
      Mast Motorsports Oilpan
Ricks Tanks vaporworks "A" body tank

We will still be using the Viper 6spd.

Some notes on what you're seeing... the Drivers side "Doug's" header hit the frame rail so bad I had to cut the flange off and weld a new one on .5" further in. I modified the Kwik performance A/C bracket to house the Magnacharger tensioner belt. This tensioner is much bigger than the factory one..

Here are a few photos of where we're at right now..

Started working on the exhaust. The 3" is definitely tighter than the 2.5"!

Phil I sent you a PM on this too. Where did you get the A/C brackets for the 455? Was that a Sanden compressor? I'm building a 64 F-85 granny post car also have a thread in this section. Trust me I'm taking alot of notes, excellent job.

Thank you for the help guys.. Our 455 has found a great new home. We can now continue to focus on getting our 65 ready for Power Tour '12.

Now that the HRPT '12 is getting very close, and our Olds is receiving it's final few finishing details, I thought I would upload a few more photos..

Here is the cold air intake that I built using a piece of diesel truck exhaust..

Here are some shots of the roll cage and the new interior that we put in..

We were running some 3" Magnaflow mufflers but it was just too loud! So we had to add some resonaters that you can see just barely in this shot from the rear.

And finally the new dyno sheet.. 550 to the wheels

The car is looking awesome! Probably got a lot of the Olds guys bent out of shape by pulling the 455 for an LS. I'm not one of them though. There is definitely an LS in my Cutlass' future (though probably not near future). Hard to argue with that kind of power numbers.

Wow your moving along Phil. I updated my thread last week-been awhile for me too on the 64 but I a have a rolling chassis ready to go just waiting on the body shop. By some slim chance did you keep the 65 instrument cluster-I need a circuit board with the fuel gauge.

Phillip and I were just talking about the Power Tour on Sunday! We made room reservation deposit and are bringing the F-85 again.Bryan and Les are coming too. Phillip has been banging on the Studebaker and I dug the second gen SS out and repainted it. We'll stay in touch. Paul
