Yep Princess auto home shop.... The body was flimsey once I took the floor out but thats why I put it on the frame before I cut out the firewall. Was not as bad as I thought though. I thought it would flare out pretty good but it wasn't that bad.

It's nerve wracking creating the process but a hell of alot of fun!!!

Took a couple of weeks to get all the parts made then took me about 30-40hrs (I am pretty slow) to get everything fitted placed, tacked then finish welded. Still have the back floor and trunk to finish though

      more work

I got the area under the rear seat completed and welded in. This gave it enough structure so that I could lift the body off the frame so that I can finish the seam welds from underneath, remove the rear wheel wells to put in the new tubs and finish the trani and engine mounts....

      Trani crossmember

I have put the motor and trani in and have the motor mounts finalized. I need to now put in the trani crossmember but I can not align the crossmember with the trani mount as the exhaust cut throughs ar right in line. I plan to have the crossmeber behind the cut throughs and cantilever the mount forward I have a mockup in the pictures and have drawn what the finished mounts will look like. What do you guys think. Would this work or put to much stress on the crossmember?

      crossmember

After some more thought and a kick in the ass from a friend to do it right I worked on the attached updated design. A hell of a lot cleaner looking and a much better fit for the car. Now waiting for the final cost to waterjet or plasma cut the main braces so I can get them done and put in.
