      Velocity

This is your personal invitation to take part in the unveiling of the new VELOCITY CAMARO from ridetech.com at the YearOne Experience in Atlanta Georgia May 16, 17, & 18.
Official Debut: Saturday 5:00PM during the YearOne Cup Presentation
air ride Technologies' previous 1967 Camaro was stolen from a hotel parking lot during the Year One Experience in 2007. Since that time the company garage has been without it's own first gen platform to experiment with.
That has changed. Precision Coachworks (the air ride Technologies sister company / car building shop) has finished a new 1968 Camaro - VELOCITY.
The VELOCITY Camaro car started off as an incredibly straight survivor car. The six cylinder has been replaced by a new Bill Mitchell 427 LS1 motor that is dyno proven for 614 HP.

The suspension is the complete Street Challenge air suspension package from Air Ride Technologies. The front system consists of the StrongArm, DA ShockWaves, Musclebar, PosiLinks, and billet tie rod adjusters.
The rear system uses the AirBar and DA ShockWaves in conjunction with the Detroit Speed mini tubs to allow the larger 335 series rear tire. The 4100 series AirPod, with the LevelPro, sensors controls the air system. The Camaro also uses a 12.7:1 steering box from Detroit Speed.

The color is Velocity Orange, a special Hot Hues color mixed specially for this project. The bare metal stripes were accomplished by the craftsmen at Precision Coachworks.
Note there is no rear spoiler and a flat hood. This car was so perfect that it needed no panel replacement and no panel repair, interior or exterior. The whole car could have been bare-metal-clearcoat finished like the stripes if desired.
Look for all the details of the Velocity Camaro to be covered in a multi-part article in Chevy High Performance in the coming months.

Guys, this is all interesting / scary information... but how 'bout we start a new thread for it. Two reasons really, 1. is this is information that people need to know and may never see because it's burried in a build thread, and 2. This is a build thread... lets let the guy talk about the car and not necessarily flame him on the parts he (in this case, they) chose.

The vendors that come on this board (or at least the good ones) are known to step up to the plate and respond to questions of quality as are the other members, so I'm quite confident you'll get answers and responses... I'm certainly not a moderator, so if I'm out of line I'll shut up...

We are down to the short strokes on Velocity. The Cerullo seats will be here tomorrow, the splitter will be done tomorrow [hopefully], and we are finishing up a few details like carpet, door panels, door speaker trim, re-routing the gas tank vent, repainting the diffuser where the old tank vent pee'd all over it, all the typical last minute stuff. We did drive it on Saturday for a few miles. Nothing important fell off. The engine is strong and the trans is crisp so I have a bit more confidence that we can drive to Atlanta. Most importantly, the Sirius radio works so Henry D doens't have to listen to me sing for 7 hours.
I think maybe by Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning we can get some better shots. I the meantime Jason will post some more detail shots of the fender braces and a few other details. Now before anyone crys foul on the fender braces...I know they look remarkably similar to the ones that Kyle did on the Earnhardt Camaro. I called him and he didn't have any to sell yet so we improvised. Hard to improve on a nice idea!

I hate to side track this thread on the car being built here. I think these spindle posts should be merged with the other that was started. I will work on this later tonight. For now, check out this sneak peak at the splitter. Pretty cool stuff!

I just hope I'm not the first one to kill a cone with it. LOL!

You are assuming we don't have lives of our own and we have to live vicariously through the Camaro's of others.

      Wow, you know your audience!

I *did* photoshop them. They're all taken from different angles. So they don't line up properly. Namely the middle section.
