      T56 going extinct?

I have always wanted a six speed for my chevelle, but school, and life,etc... kept me from getting one, but now I got the motor and Im ready to buy my t56 and nothing!!! Ebay, craigslist, even HERE on the ''for sale'' forum- nothing. There used to be 10-20 for sale on ebay a couple years ago, now not even one!!. Whats going on?
