Axle Identifcation

I was hoping someone may be able to help me identify the rearend under my 1968 Camaro.

When I finally got under the car to look at it, I was surprised to see the ring gear was less than 8". So it is a 7.5 or 7.6" rear end. I guess someone welded on the spring perches? It appears to be close to the correct overall width.

The Code off of the axle tube is:FC 6K - 086. It is a open 2.73. I am trying to determine what vehicle this assembly started life in.

Does any one know of a 7.5" 10 bolt that would fit a 68 Camaro?
