You are correct. The jams were painted and cleared prior to masking. We'll blow them (and some other edges) in again prior to wet sanding the clear to bring them together and get rid of any possible seams.

We got a couple of new bits and pieces from Matt at RFR while Chris was finishing with the wet sanding and polishing. The first part is our newly designed hood latch:

Chris is nearly finished the wet sand and polish, with just over 50 hours into the body at this point. That includes five passes of wet sanding ending at 2500 grit and three round of polishing. With the body now unmasked we are working on the final assembly.

The power windows are in and the glass is in place. We are working on the wing windows now and hopefully have them rebuilt tomorrow. Then we'll start aligning the glass.

We also got the exhaust back from Top Gun today with the entire assembly ceramic coated and ready for installation tomorrow. We've got an awesome new electrical system coming this week which we'll get in next week - it is completely revolutionary and has some killer features.

He had these tow hooks laser cut for us. We'll wind up with two up front, below the front valance, and one in the back. The rear one is very nearly finished and we'll be going on the fronts tomorrow.

I also wanted to take a minute to thank John at Speartech who built a pair of extension harnesses for our relocated coil brackets. He turned them around in no time flat and they fit perfectly. Great customer service is always appreciated - thanks.

I haven't shelved the side strip at this point, just delayed it a bit more than anything. We'll see how it looks when it's all together and on the ground but for now we are more focused on getting it together than anything.

I want to say "good job" on going flat/satin black behind the grille and in the wheel wells. I see so many cars ruined with this being shiny, body-color paint that distracts from the car itself...especially on an RS.

      Thumbs up!

I thought I would post a quick update before heading to La Jolla for the week so here is where we are today...

The exhaust is in, the Mark Williams aluminum driveshaft has arrived, the brakes are bled and the power windows and glass is being aligned. Most importantly for '67 fans... the vent windows are in!

We wanted to see the car on the groung one last time before finishing off some other minor details so here it sits. The lower valance still need polishing and so does the roof but I couldn't resist shooting a couple of pics.

The hood is just set in place - no hinges and no latch - and it still needs to be sanded and polished but it's there.

We had the entire exhaust system ceramic coated after grinding all of the welds flush (there is something I will never do again). We have the tips trimmed properly and the fit is great...
