Well, every time I post, my little signature shows up with the title "progress thread" and i have to painfully chuckle as I realize, no progress has been made...but alas good news, it began when the body man called and said we had to pick the car up, we had been keeping it there until we decided when to have the work done on it. Well I guess he got sick of it and called and said we needed to come pick it up. Well my dad started thinking and decided it was time to get the project rolling or else it would not get done with me graduating in 9 weeks. So the plan was to order stuff next weekend and meet up with the body guys, but I have my senior prom next weekend, and I have to go vist two colleges to try and decide where to go, so we dont have time to do anything. So most of today was spent planning and making lists of what we need to do within the next two weeks, and then we should be able to really dig in and start working!

In two weeks we will be placing an order with Art Morrison for the Max G chassis. We plan on going with the Corvette C6 suspension up front... In the back we will put either a triangulated 4 bar or a three link, dont know which is better so any input you guys can give would be appreciated. Once the frame arrives we are gonna weld up the body mounts, bumpter mounts and all the other various pieces that we need on it and send if off the be powdercoated, probably black, but unsure as of now. Then we can fab the floors and trunk and have the body as a roller. Then it comes back home and we start the mock up of everything!

The body man said that it should take about 4 to 6 weeks to have all the body work finished. then again he has not started to do the custom work on the back end of it. Zee (aka ZVT) is working on another rendering for the back end of the nova and the proofs he has sent me so far have looked awsome, I will post those up when they are finished. I expect it to take closer to 8 weeks to finish all the body work and have it in primer, we are going to try and meet with out bodyman this week to try and discuss everything that needs to be done.

I am also looking for a gas cap, we are going to mount it in between the two lights like you have on Steve Rupp's Bad Penny. Sadly being the average man I am, cannot get my hands on one of Larry's awsome billet filler caps, so I am in need of a replacement. Again any input from you guys as to what I should use or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just found RaceRodz websight and they have some pretty awsome LED tail lights. More importantly they have some that will fit a 70 nova, so we are planning on using those. We are still a few months away from actually needing them but I saw them and decided we will be using them for sure! So if the RaceRodz guys see this, awsome stuff, we will be ordering from yah soon!

The doors on the nova are going to be shaved, so I am looking for a door popper kit, I have seen the actuators and many of the components but have not found an actual kit. If anybody has used door poppers please let me know what you have found, I need some help in this area.

Another question I have is regarding SecondSkin, if the reps see this maybe they can help, when is the best time to apply the second skin products? is it while I am preparing to paint the car of what?

I did some work on the garage this weekend to clean it up and get it ready, so Ill post pictures of all that, looks much better now If i do say so myself. I will make sure to keep updating with progress and such.

Well, I have some unfortunate news which has slowed the project down to 0mph... the guy we had hoped to have do the body work will not be doing it now. I have had some renderings done so that he could begin to brainstorm what he would need to do. After looking over the more recent renderings that are more detailed, he does not feel comfortable doing that level of fabrication on our car. I think it is honestly the fact that he does not want to alter a classic car since he does purely restoration work...but thats something completely different. Therefore, nothing is happening with the project, We were supposed to order the AME frame, but now we cant do anything with it, so that has to wait. Until we find somebody to do the body work the project is frozen. I will probly be shooting some shops PMs in the next few days and see who feels up to doing the fab work and bodywork on NoGo. Really want to stay close to home, but we may have to send the body elsewhere. So if any shops see this feel free to PM me so we can talk about it. Sadly no other updates on the car itself.

The only good news is below. Well I contacted Zee (ZVT) to do another rendering for me, this time the back view of the nova. And below is what we have come up with:

      • Sectioned Bumper
      • Billet Gas Cap (Located between lights)
      • LED Tail Lights
      • Dual 3" Exhaust with Square Tips
      • Camaro Spoiler

I also had Zee make a change to the front rendering as well, Initially it was using the Camaro front bumper, but I really dont want the car to come off as a copy of the RadRides 70 nova so we ditched that idea and we are using an original 70 bumper, but it too will be sectioned and made smaller, it does not appear to be a big change, but I am able to see a noticeable difference between the two.

Let me know what yall think, hopefully soon I will actually be able to post some updates

well, since rad rides is doing it, I dont want to, I dont wnt to be copying them, I want my nova to be more unique, while still maintaining certain aspects that make it a nova
