Well the old post had a number of good ideas but Zee has finished the rendering and I have the car pictured just as I want it to be. This thread will have the pictures of my previous thread but I will hopefully be able to add even more in the next few months...

And I would like to take a moment and thank Zee (aka ZVT)...I think he did an amazing job with this, Zee really helped me to visualize my project and I cannot thank hime enough for this! For anybody looking to do a rendering in the future, strongly consider ZVT, he was great to work with, extremely patient, and very talented as you can see...And now... without any further adieu, I present, Project : NoGo



Right now these are the plans for the car...

-Minitubbed with the DSE Quadralinked Rear set up for a 12 bolt POSI
-The interior will be completly FatMatted to reduce noise and heat and the color scheme of it will probly be black leather and polished alumininum accents
-We are looking at the Sparco Modena seats
-The plan is to add a 6speed manual (probly a TKO) to the back of a 396 which should be pushing 400-500 naturally
-To connect all of the power we are going to have a carbon fiber drive shaft, which not only looks awsome but does a great job
-As far as the body mods go, it should have 2 inch cowl and all the badges shaved off, I would love to have the doors shaved but we will see how the project develops, it will also have some DSE subframe connectors
-The car will be running Forgeline SP3P wheels 8" wide in the front and 12" in the rear, I think it is going to be a 18/19 staggered setup
-Behind the wheels will have 13" Wilwood Brakes for some sure fire stopping power
-Up front it is also going to get the full DSE treatment, It will have a DSE front clip with all the goodies on it
-Its gonna have a nice system in it, nothing crazy but something that sounds good.
-Still have yet to decide on a cage setup, not sure if we want a full cage or just something less that adds to the structural rigidity of the body

Personally I like the dual wheels on the primered version the best. But the rendered version will probably look nice too. LOL!

Maybe I should get a rendering done of my Chevelle. How much did it cost?

There are ways to get the lighter bumper effect without simply slapping a Camaro nose on it. The one Brian Stupski is doing (with the 69 nose) will be totally integrated with the fender "swoops" and everything. It's really not the Frankenstein creation some people are thinking.

I'm taking a different approach by using and modifying the existing bumpers and creating lower valences that match the rest of the body. I love the look of the Novas but the bumpers are just way too chunky for me. The only other mod I'm doing is the rear tail panel and spoiler, though I've contemplated how difficult it would be to graft in the hardtop look, glass and all, from a Camaro while retaining the rest of the Nova roof. Door posts drive me nuts!

This is pretty much where I've been at for over a year but it needs more work, especially the rear.

hahah Ben we are on the exact same page. I definately want to find a way to make the front bumper look lighter, but I really dont want to put the camaro stuff on there because then I will get the people saying, well why dont you just build a camaro. Anbd the door posts...ahhhh horrible...i did a quick photoshop getting rid of them an all I can say was I guarentee that the nova would have been quite a bit more popular without them...it looks amazing...and I definately like that lower valence, I have been doing numerous designs on my own time (just sketches) trying to figure out how to work the front bumper so that it works with the car, I have not really come up with anything...yours is gonna look great when it is done...have you made much progress with it?

I don't think you necessarily have to put Camaro bumpers on anyway. The Nova bumpers are contoured correctly to wrap around the outer edge of the headlight. You can still use the stock filler piece under the grill if you don't tuck the bumper too far in.

As far as the posts, I think that is one reason why the Nova is a little lighter than the Camaro. (I'm pretty sure I heard that was the case anyway) The structural pieces that are required to reinforce a hardtop add weight.

Slow progress but as much as I hate to, I'm thinking of selling it. I'll probably finish up the rust removal and smoothed firewall so that stuff will be taken care of for whomever wants to take it on.
