what i want to know is why do people look at me crazy when i say i build her with the intent to KEEP her..

      but otherwise..

it dont matter if the owner is an ass hat.. if they build something inspiring for your own build then you get more out of it..

if they are cool people, like Steve Rupp or Parsons or even my man Bob Johnson, then your REALLY come away with something good.. maybe even a friendship or two.

What's the difference in buying a part or buying labor? You write checks for both of them......unless you whittle every part on your car out of steel, then we ALL are "check writers" in some form.

This really sounds like someone is looking for a "sword fight" if you get my drift....

I guess when you look at it, the guy that pays big bucks to have a car built for himself to show off to everyone around him and talk condescendingly to others is a jerk and doesn't get invited to parties. But if his mega dollar build inspires 20 cheque writers or garage wrenchers to churn out higher caliber cars, do we actually wish he wasn't part of the hobby?

The links shows that Unique was formed by Quantum Tecstar, the other companies probably were purchased by them, They all shared the same tractor trailer rig on Power Tour.

I just want to clear this up, it is spelled "CHECK", not cheque, at least on this side of the border!

Some computer experts from around the world had a huge meeting/benefit for the global internet community to help describe the relationship between veteran board users and new board users. Within each of the worlds leading forum heads describing the domination of another new users posts due to lack of experience and common sense resulted in a catastrophic domination by multiple veteran users.. The term OWNED was established in 1942 by Franklin D Roosevelt during the Mongol invation of Las Vegas. At this point the Mongols were fierce but savage internet users that prided themselves in the use of the Search button, a function that most inexperienced users tend to ignore.
The Mongol leader Arman Assante was known for his prowess in typing skills. During the world meeting Master Mongol Assante called in his long time associate and McDonalds chain ownership partner Marion Cobretti into the meeting to deligate his terms. During the initial forum conference a newly elected young, brash, Theodore Bucksley typed a question to the Mongol leader without using his search function in the Mongol Nastee Forum, in which resulted in Cobrettis' swift internet judgment of said new user, addressed as such "Damn Noob, used the fackin search!.. ROFLPWNT!"
after that statement, Assante with all his Mongol wisdom replied to Marions post QUOTING IT with

In my personal check writing opinion, this would be a boring, uninspirational, dull hobby if it weren't for quality builders and check writers. I have been going to car shows for years, probably longer than most people on this site have lived. I have learned very little from the homebuilt guys. God Bless them for they are doing their best and they're proud of their accomplishments. But to a man that has worked all his life, and accumulated a reasonable worth, it just doesn't satisfy me. The best cars are built trying to one up the previous high water mark. I have decent mechanical skills but I haven't honed those skills since I was a teenager since there is just no money in building cars. i spent my time and effort doing things that made a buck...Now I can afford to have what I want built. But believe me, there is a whole lot more to building a top rate car than writing a check. I spent untold hours on the Cuda getting it to where it got. If anyone here is naive enough to think George Poteet, Fred Warren, Bruce Ricks, Doug Cooper etc just go hand a builder a check without constant communication, input, and guidance is sadly mistaken. Busy Builders just don't have the time to dedicate the extensive thought process it takes to develop a plan (without the owners input) to build a top notch car.
