      2nd gen question????

can some one tell me what the biggest and widest wheel i can fit into a stock wheel well on a 71 camaro, would be? I would like to run a 19 inch wheel. It is not a problem to narrow the rear if i have to. thanks conbread

285 to be absolutly rub free, 295 will work but fit is tight. 315's fit but you can't lower the car much, tire sits below the lip.

      no problem.

      Rear it was 285/17 on 17x 9.5 with a 5 5/8" back space.

My car had 20s on the back and lowered, but I believe they were 8 inch wide. I have done a lot of research regarding the wides wheels and backspacing, it seemed like most people run the 17x11 wheels with 5.75 backspacing, but you need to roll the fender lip and beat the hell out of the seatbelt hump.

I ordered my 17x11 Torque Thrust IIs, 5.75 backspacing. I have not received them yet.

Also depends on the type of tire you are using. Some tires have round shoulders like Nittos and Sumitomos, and some others like Goodyear F1, D3 tend to be wider than Nittos and Sumitomos

I thought AR only did backspacing in 1/4 inc.
