      Pro Touring....sorta

We entered our shop car in Hot Rod magazine's Drag Week event. Info on the event is here http://www.hotrod.com/upcomingevents...on/index1.html Basically, the car has to drive from track to track, totalling over 1250 miles for us, race at each event, with no tow vehicle. In the end, the fastest car that makes each event wins.

After 3 events, our twin turbo LS1 car has been doing very well. With fingers crossed, We havent really had any problems. The car is getting suprisingly good gas mileage (on 93 octane), running nice and cool, while clicking off 8.60's @160ish at each event. We have only had to change the plugs one time, and clean the fuel filter out, and that is really it. Both of those were at the first race.

There is more info here, which we update every day. There is information on the car here at our website.

I know this event, and car do not define "Pro Touring", but all of my personal cars, and most of the customer cars we build, are built to be driven and I am very proud of what this car has accomplished thus far. It also really showcases how amazing the Gen III motor platform is.

      Thanks, Tom

No trailer, just tires, luggage, some hand tools, oil and spark plugs.

That is awesome Tom. I had no idea you had made the car a twin turbo beast. I remember it being on the cover of GMHTP and thinking the paint scheme was so great looking. I love SOM and the blacked out parts just makes it look so nice. Best of luck to you.

I remember this car at GLD during the first maiden voyage of my TT about 2 years back. Just a big single back then though. Good luck!

      8.60 + 1250 miles??????
Sounds like protouring to me. Race it then drive it to the next track, yeah, thats the way to do it baby.
Congratulations, you have won, regardless of the official outcome, because you have used the car the way it was meant to be used.
