I'm going to try to swing a free day as part of a business trip, so I should be there Friday. Is the attendance good on Friday's? (I would think it is, I've been there on Saturdays and it was insane!) -Dan

I like Friday. All the cars and vendors, but less spectators.

Looks like Dave Schultz is coming back for more, he won it back in '01 with his blue '66 SC Nova!

Roger I would get there early Friday and get a decent parking spot. The Good Guys judges ride all over the lot and do a lot of picking on Friday..not SMOY or Pros picks but other PITY (lol) picks..Your car needs to be seen..It's ridiculous but you have to get there early Sat. to be guaranteed a parking spot in the Pros Pick Area. I wish they would invite people to the area, and anyone else wanting in would be culled before they get in if their car isn't of the quality to be considered. lots of guys just want to park in there and their car doesn't even deserve being there. That makes everyone have to be in line by 7:00 to even be sure to get in. You cannot leave your car in a Goodguys event overnight. You're right it's work. I've seen guys lining up at 2:00AM in Louisville at the NSRA Nats..Kinda takes the fun out of it ..

Exactly what Bob said. No comment on the time of day that Dad and I were in line on Saturday with the 38 Chevy and the 60 Corvette last year. The show is a lot of fun though. I'll be flying in on Thursday night this year.

The good news is I enjoy just taking the car out to the DQ. Or getting thumbs up from joggers along the road way. A PR guy I'm not.

This old dog is aching just cleaning the car for this event. Total BS getting there before the sun comes up! I think I'm going to bring a cordless blender and some booze to Goodguys, park the car and call it a day.

Blenders and booze! That's what I'm talking about. I don't have a car to bring, so I'll just be drooling over everyone elses. May as well have a reason to be drooling!!!!

I'll probably just stick to the normal brewskies and hot dogs and hamburgers - our Goodguys staple diet!

      See you all there!

I just got back from a business trip that got "extended" through Friday so I got to the good guys show-- lots of nice stuff, a lot of walking to try to see it all in a day. I'm sure there will be even more on Sat/Sunday based on past trips there, but there was a lot of nice iron there on Friday. Lot of driven stuff too which is refreshing. Still way too many trailer queens though. Most of the "past winners" they had grouped up were awesome, but they still looked like the tires were never spun (with the exception of Bob's Cuda which we know has been driven and abused properly!). Definately worth a trip though, lots of bad ideas for my next project. -Dan

Last years Street Rod of the Year has been driven a lot since the show. It was on an autocross track a few weeks ago. Look for photos of it on autocross tracks in the near future. There's also a bit of a challenge between air ride and the owner and it looks like it's going to be a show down on the track at the Kansas City Goodguys show later this year.

that is refreshing-- and more in line with the "good-guys" concept-- having fun and DRIVING the cars. Now I'll admit, I use to trailer to some shows years back, but at least ditched the trailer once there and put some miles on; now I've sworn off the trailer and am having a lot more fun, despite a few stone chips.
