      USPS Delivery Problem

Just got home around 8pm pacific & a package I was expecting was not here. Checked the tracking & it says notice left. There was no notice left anywhere. I tried calling the PO but they closed at 7:30. Wondering if I am going to have a problem trying to pick up the package at the post office with no notice of attempeted delivery?
I was planning on bringing my id & the tracking numbers. Anyone have this happen before? I am wondering if I should just have them try to redeliver so I can get the attempted delivery notice so I can at least bring that in to the PO so I can pick up the package.

call 1800pickups and ask them to hold the package for you. They'll message the office that has your package.

this is for a priority mail package from the post office. I guess I'll just have to call early in the morning to catch them.

You will probably get it today. Just because the tracking says it will be delivered or you will have a notice left doesn't mean that your carrier had it in his possesion until the next day sometimes.

Patience and then a call or email? will get you more info if you need it and if you have a tracking # even better.

I received all my mail for today so it looks like they did show up, just forgot to leave a missed delivery notice. I was just currious how much the post office hassles you if you try to pick up a package without the notice.
Here is the tracking info if you want to seee what I mean.

I had a postman that would leave the notice taped to my door, the front door that I never use ! The notice may not be in your mailbox like you might think, look everywhere around at the entrance he was going to deliver at.

The tracking number should get you the location of the post office you can pick it up at. They usually will try to redeliver at least once but don't rely on it. You will be able to claim it unless it is still with your mailman being delivered. Have fun and play phone tag or e tag with the cost of gas the time it will take.

For the most part they fix things like this with ease. But there was this flywheel once............. 29 days later........ wow it survived ,got it just in time . after 30 days it is considered lost.

      Goodluck

I've gone into the PO with just the tracking# written on a piece of paper. It took a little longer for them to locate the package, but I got it (with id). Good luck.

You shouldn't be hassled about picking it up at the Post Office. Just bring your ID.
Any time something comes to my house by USPS that requires a signature I have to go to the PO, because I'm never home for them.
They leave an attempted delivery notice that I have to fill out if I want them to redeliver. When the carrier gets back to the office the package is dropped off there, so if I want them to deliver it it'll take at least two days more-one for them to get the notice, and the next to bring it. So, the day after I get the notice I go to the PO and pick it up. Nice and simple, at least for me, because I can get there on lunch.
