Steering Box: Is this a Fast Ratio 12:1 Box?

My '69 Camaro came with a new power steering gear box installed (It is painted and has AN fittings and braided hoses to the PS pump). I cannot tell if it is a fast ratio box. It goes about 2.25 - 2.50 turns lock-to-lock. It feels stiff and changes lanes with only a slight bit of steering input.

I am changing headers this weekend and this is a great opportunity to swap an "Iroc" box in if mine is a stock unit. How can I truely tell what's in my car?

      Thanks,
      Brandon

That few turns lock to lock usually indicates a 12:1 ish box. 18:1 is like 3.5 turns. My box is 12:1 and is about 2.25 turns, same steering response you are talking about too. If you like the way it feels, leave it as the IROC box is not the greatest.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?
