Liberty Gears
I was wondering if anyone has any Exp. with clutchless trannys, and what are the good and bad of them.....
I talked to TKO and told them my engine combo " they told me it would be a waste of time to put a tranny from them in my car " so they gave me liberty gears number and I talked to them and told them the same thing and the TKO's and T-56 they build would not work either, but they did say a cluthless tranny would be the best bet, and they would make it a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed....

what kind of car and what are you trying to do with it??? a clutchless trans is USELESS for any street aplication, its drag race only.
have you looked at G-Force - the GF5R is a great trans

It will be going in a 78 trans am, with a butler performance 571 CI aftermarket block, hp range is over 1200 and torque is over 1000, aftermarket front sub frame, ( might be going with a full frame undecided at this time ) the list goes on and on,

..........so your going drag racing????????????????????????????
03-23-2007 #6Because of the tq numbers, noone selling transmissions will say to put anything other than a full boogie race trans in the car. Your comfort is not what they care about, it is simply a matter of if the part they give you will live or not. A lesser trans may work - but for how long, etc. ??
03-23-2007 #7with that kind of power you might have to go 4l80, lenco or PG w/ gear vendors setup.

it will be for part time drag and the rest will be shows etc, I talked to g-force today the GF5R will work, as a cluthless set up, and is rated at 1200hp, they did say they will get me a seperate clutch assit box, so it could be driven on the street......
