      1968 Camaro Street Fighter Rendering

      Hey guys,

Here's a little sneak peak design rendering of the 1968 Camaro Street Fighter I did for our first 1:18 die cast that will be available soon. It will be available early 2005. I showed a couple guys some of the prototype pattern photos at the dinner so I thought I'd share the rendering with the board. We teamed up with Billet Specialties and it will be equiped with a set of their 18" wheels and a matching steering wheel. There are a ton of mods made to this car from a T-65 6 speed to a custom fuel injected powerplant and more! Stay tuned!

      Enjoy the rendering!

      John

When you said '68 Camaro Street Fighter I thought you might have meant Steve Chryssos's 68 Camaro

That's a fantastic rendering by the way. The 3-D stuff is nice but there's still something to be said for the traditional 2D sketches.

Very Cool! From my perspective, you and Desmond are the best designers that us regular schmoes out here have access to. Excellent work as always.

      ...thanks

      Thanks guys,

I have been hammered with projects and am trying to do some more personal stuff. I have a 2007 Chevelle concept I designed that i think turned out pretty good, I'd like to post it and get some feedback.

To be compared to Desmond is a big compliment to me. He and Chip Foose are two guys that inspire me a lot. I've been a fan of Desmonds since I first saw his work in Car Craft. I hear he's working exclusively with Jesse James now?

      again, thanks.

Thanks, I really can't wait to see the first painted sample of the diecast. It's gonna be neat.

Hey Steve - Just so you know you and your street fighter were an inspiration for this model. Who knows, I may contact you for the next PT Camaro we do and make a paddle shifting setup on it...ooooohh! LOL!
I just liked the insane thought of building a T/A Camaro or even a T/A Mustang that is just streetable with modern componentry. I think there's a lot of guys who share my fantasy of driving some sort of heavily modified race car on the street!

I am truly honored. Thank you.

Yeah--there's enough of us out there. Wouldn't it be cool to "borrow" a Penske Camaro from the paddock of some vintage race and then toss it around on the street? That's how I feel every time I turn the key on my car and back it out of the garage. Like I'm doing something that's a no-no. Taboo.

Anytime you want to put a Shrifter™ into a diecast, lemme know, I'll forward you the CAD files.

Love the drawing, any plans on building a full-size project of that one?

I'm also a fan of Steve's "Street Fighter" build style. Its a more hardcore performance pro-touring, and is also the effect I was going for on mine.
