      Ridler Predictions

So does anyone know whats going to Detroit? I have heard from a number of people that Lobeck, Troy, Scotts Hot Rods, and the old Buttera Willys will be there. Does anybody know of any other heavy hitters that will be hitting the show floor? If Troy makes it with this car he and a seven nation army are building, they will undoubtedly win. I personally think that nobody can touch Rad Rides. However only time will tell as all the players hit the floor this week in preperation for the big show. I hope someone will be posting pics on the net so I can see the contenders. Also, how much does one have to spend this year to win? Half mill, one mill, maybe multi millions? What does everyone think?

A lot of people were disappointed with last year's results, the best vehicle did not win. The judges don't know what they're looking at. Just politics as usual.
That said, Troy will win, and probably will have the best car there.

That '32 built by Alan should be a nice car. I think that is the one the Ron Winters from New York owns. The truck that Peratt and Hutcherson teamed up on should be really cool too. I heard though that there was a chance that they might not make it. Also I heard yesterday from someone who talks to Scotts that they had not even left the LA area yet.

Neal Lea from Alabama is bringing a '56 Chevy wagon. Now between all the previously mentioned cars and this one I named, thats all I can think of. It should be very cool. I am very excited to see what all is there.

I will bet my 2cents on Troy. It is the most interesting car I have ever been around. I did alot of design work on the car. It is very innovative to say the least.

Ron Winter's 32 that Alan built is a real nice car, but it wasn't started to be a Ridler Winner. the 32 B 400 that Alan is building could be a serious contender if Doug Cooper decides he wants to go in that direction. Doug is like me, if it won't drive, what's the use in building it. I believe Ron's car will get a great 8. It's probably the highest detailed car that Alan has built..including the 37 3 window Ford he did 2 times..once for each owner. As usual, the 32 will have superior fit and finish. Alan get's a 32's stance right on..If Troy is there, he's a shoe in..Even if Foose was there this year. Troy is due..plus the car is supposedly over the top. I did see the Buttera Willys that TNT is re-doing. I didn't see it after Paul Atkins did the interior and they got it finished..it has some real neat stuff on it, but they have an uphill pull with the rough side dragging trying to compete with Troy. It's a shame since TNT has been the brides maid (great 8) for several years in a row..

I heard last night that Scotts Hot Rods had still not left LA so I would say its safe to count them out. Also found out last night that Neil Lea will not be making it with his '56 Wagon. However, I did remember that Bruce Ricks from Oklahoma will be bringing a '57 Olds wagon that is pretty nice.

Your definitely right about Alan knowing how to give a '32 Ford the perfect stance. That black full fendered 5-window he built a couple of years ago will always be one of my favorite '32's and it had a killer stance. I look forward to seeing Winters car.

What about Creative Concepts? When we were there in June 06 they were well on their way with a pretty killer '27. Zane and his crew should definitely get a Great 8 spot with this one.

Someone told me that Bobby's bringing a Chevy.

Jeff- I thought you were building a car?

Josh- Are you going to have you're Rat Rod truck there? I think I am going to hold the Rambler back till next year........not much competition for it this year.

      Oh, and Troy will win.

Seth Wagner's Willys truck built by Legens.

I have a car designed that I'd like to build for the Ridler, need a customer who'll help me build it.

Oh man I hate those banzai runs! Good luck to all the contenders. Wish we could be there to see. Hate missing the Pro Touring dinner, but to much to do.
