      flowmaster dilema

i have a 65 chevelle. i just had a shop put dual 2.5" with 40series flowmaster muffs with tailpipes dumping behind the tires. every other car ive done this way had the cool "tinny crisp" flowmaster sound. this car sounds like it's got $30. glasspacks and is really dissapointing. please...help... exhaust shop said it sounds great

      Flow Master's sound like ass.

      Maybe try adding tailpipes?

Don't know why it would sound any different that other vehicles you have had. Diffferent headers? Exhaust leaks?

The engine compression will make a difference, as will the cam timing. What's your setup? Also, are you sure they put the actual 40's on there and not the Delta 40's?

ha ha ha....i ran flowmasters in the 80's and really liked the crisp sound they made. my vette sounded great with them...i just dont get it. wondering if i put a crossover in there if it would help eliminate that damn glasspack sound.

"Sounds like ass" should define Ricers and their "fart can" exhaust.

the reason ur vette sounded better is there was nothing behind the mufflers they weere right under the very back of the car and tips right off the cans. (right?)

Every time Ive seen any bends added after the mufflers they get a Lambamba Rap sound to them and sound like CRAP.

Cut off the crap going over the rear and dump right in front youll see the sound gets nasty =)
Or deal with the Labamba rap
