Please Help!!!
Bought a trans crossmember from "bowtie overdrives" for my 69' chevelle/tko-600. It was too high (yoke rubbing on floor). They sent me a new one that is suppose to work, its for a 700R4 trans. (lowers about an inch). Will this work?? Thanks!

A 700R4 crossmember will not work for a TKO. The forward/backward distance of the moutning pad are the same between the 700R4 and the TKO but the mounting pad heights are different.
You do not need a custom crossmember for the Chevelle application. Your stock crossmember slid rearward 1 3/4" will fork fine. You may need to "dimple" down the top of the xmember where it may interfere with the TKO's torque arm boss but that's about it.

Thanks for the help. I need to start dealing with people who know their stuff....not just what stuff they have to sell. I'll be throwing some buisness your way (Classic Chevy 5-speed). Thanks again!
