      Mr Syclones Dyno Runs

Here is a little back ground on this truck.. It started life off as the standard GMC Syclone and was exported when it was new by GM.

Over the years, Robert has been a leader in innovation and low ET timeslips, the truck features a fully built motor and a 90+mm turbo, stock BW4472 transfer case and stock front axle.

Theres been alot of ***** talking lately by the 'haters' in the crowd, always pointing the finger saying its NOT an NHRA track, the truck isnt NHRA Legal, blah blah blah... So Robert stepped up and said, "Put up or shut up.. I am shipping my truck to the US for the Annual SyTy Nationals.. "(keep in mind this is an expense IN EXCESS of $6000 US DOLLARS) to Robert. Some more ***** talking ensued as well as some underhanded deeds tried in the 11th hour to delay Robert running his truck, all have been met and surpassed. This coming weekend, Robert is going to make an attempt to back up his World Record here in the USA on an NHRA TRACK so all the crybabies can stick it in their crack pipe and smoke it..

For the record, the truck has already run 2x runs of 9.11 back to back on Tuesday of this week at Bowling Green on a very slippery track.. (AWD SKATING through the 60' mark)..

Anyhow, here's the video of the Dyno Runs: (this were earlier this week)

      http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...73793650665402

Its difficult to understand what Robert is saying since alot of its in Swedish, but I can tell you, it was dyno'd here in the US on Wednesday night..

Keep in mind, this was a 2wd Dyno, but the truck runs AWD.. Can you imagine putting 750-ish to all 4 wheels ?? Its a handful on the launch, even with the front wheels on the ground they are spinning and steering input is futile.. And remember, this is from a V6 motor.. NOT an LS1 or SBC !!!

Here's Robert's webpage if you are interested: http://syclone.org/

There will be video posted later of the drag runs over at: www.syty.net

If you are bored and live near Kansas City you can watch it in person this weekend at KCIR, details here: http://www.sytynationals.com

I wont be able to make it this weekend, but I wish Robert the best of luck, I hope he hits his goal of another 8 second timeslip to shut up all the haters and crybabies.

Nice! Let me know the next time you are down in Bowling Green. I live in town and would love to see that thing run!

Doubtful it will ever see Bowling Green again EVER.. its going back to Sweden after the SyTy Nats and probably wont make the trek over again... It cost in excess of $6000 USD to ship it here this year..

      Good news is:

1st run tonight was 9.06 @ Unknown MPH.. I am not there so I am getting details but apparently the truck passed Tech (or the track is NOT enforcing it).

More updates as I get them.. I know there will be video, I just dont know WHO and WHEN it will be posted..

Wonder if Robert remembered to arm the N2O this time LOL...he forgot to flip the switch on after the burnout box at BG but he still went 9.1x @15xMPH .

Robert and his crew (two guys whos names I cant pronounce or even attempt to spell) were super nice ppl. On top of all that Robert will crack you up every 5 minutes...he's a walking riot of laughs.

Yes the translation is good. Even though they had good fans it was not enough to keep things cool even though truck runs fine on the street without overheating. So after the first pull, which was shut down early and low boost we decided it was not worth the risk. Truck runs great on street/track and wasn't built to race on dynos so we pulled it off.

Not sure what a full pull would have been, but more than what was posted.

      Thats awesome!

The 3000GT/Stealth world record was held by a Japanese man for years. The only 1/4 track in Japan (that I have ever seen video of) is actually downhill! From the videos it looks like nearly a 20ft drop from tree to traps. The poor guy got endless amounts of crap about his run, His record was 1/2 second faster than the US record so the downhill run must have really given him the advantage!

Congradulations on the 9.06! I hope he breaks into the 8's in the US

On a loaded pull like that its normal for the manifolds/headers to turn bright red.

Even at light throttle/cruise the stock cast iron manifolds and down pipe on my truck turn a dull orange. Back in 2001 on the way to the syty nats in KS in the middle of the night a group of us syty ppl were caravaning down the freeway at ~80mph and checking out/taking pics of each others glowing exhaust LOL. Its pretty neat actually but cooked plug wires happens a lot

Well, I dunno what to tell ya my friend. What you saw in the vid is pretty normal on something that has a good power making A/F ratio and is straining against a dyno.

Can't speak for turbos, but I have seen plenty of headers glow. Think about the amount of heat it takes to make a cat function correctly.

That motor was built 5 years ago. So obviously turning red isn't hurting anything. Probably be amazed what happended under the hood of most high horsepower vehicles if you could see them.

Truck is enroute back to Sweden. Probably won't see US ground again but it was fun while it lasted. Robert already has some ideas for next year.
