      This week?!!!

Well, it's been awhile, but it looks like my 68 Camaro should be finished this week just in time for a trip to the Year One event along with the crew from Road Killer Kustoms.

The finalizations include; 427 World Products crate motor (Dyno sheet states 530hp, 540tq), Mark VIII fan w/DC controller, Hydra boost, Pypes 2.5" exhaust w/x-pipe, 2.5" Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers, new factory interior with Scat Procar Rally seats and Morris Classic 3 point belts, TTII (grey centers) 17x8, 17x9.5

My (ahem) budget PT project is at last nearing the end.

      Marty

Hmmmm, where do I start?!?! You said it was budget, you just didn't mention how big the budget was! Congrats on the motor.......you knew you were gonna get it, why didn't you buy in the first place?!? I'm glad YOU are gonna make it to Year One. Now get that "budget" car of yours out of the way so the rest of us can get in the garage!! Or would you rather us take turns doing laps in your car?

BTW-Can't wait to hear it run......that thing is gonna be baaaaad!

      Jim,

I thought those wheels of yours would make my rotisserie look real cool. Can we not possibly work a deal?

No deal! I'll have to push your car out in the parking lot. Sorry, but I need to face my arch-nemesis, Marty, at Year One. On the track-battle of the budget p/t cars!

Marty, which 427 did you get? Don't they have several versions to choose from?

What I meant to say was, Congratulations on the impending completion of your fabulous car. Would you mind if I have a turn now, please? (I forgot you had been working out.)

Ok - It's the iron block, aluminum head, 9.5:1 motor. I drove it home tonight so I could take it to a guy that's close to me (he's a race car builder/tuner) for tuning and valve adjustments. The only thing left at Road Killer Kustoms is to have David finish my custom grill that he started along with a few other minor items. Hopefully there will be a spot in his tight schedule (read trying to get a lot of stuff done for the show and keep the business running at the same time ... he commented something about liking to eat and live indoors) for him to finish it this week.

He'll (David) probably want me to get it back in there on Saturday so he won't have to deal with those clowns from GreySky, GA or wherever it is they're from. (Anyboby still watch Beavis and Butthead? - uh, nevermind) Every Saturday that I'm there someone starts whining that it's lunch time at 10am and it continues till noon when we all go to eat.

      I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Road Killer is a business now?!? I thought it was just a cool place to hang out on the weekends!
That's ugly Marty! I only go to Road Killer to be there when you have these great ideas of yours! I like to watch the process in action......the way the car customizing ideas flow from you in a Foose-like manner.
BTW-If you don't start planning lunchie-time at 10:00 you won't ever get to eat. Everyone else thinks it's a great place to hang out on the weekends, too!

Jimbo - I spent most of the day Saturday trying to figure out how to stop the HUGE power steering leak coming from the high pressure line fitting. Paul from Hydratech called me and walked me through the fix and I finally got it done. The car really isn't fully ready to drive, the timing needs to be backed off some to get rid of the spark knock. Do you really want me told help you with your car? Think about it ... the last guy that worked with me almost had his finger chopped off with my expertise, but if you insist.

Rybar - I couldn't resist those mats. $0.88 per ft at Home depot (2 ft per side). With new carpet and new rubber Chevrolet reproduction mats, I needed something I could use to cover up the good stuff while I am driving around and the tear to size carpet runners seemed like the hot ticket. Besides that WAS my BUDGET project.
