      Help fabing up headers

      Anyone have any tips on modifying or fabing up headers ?
      or a website ?

      Im droping in a Blown 510cu in BBC into my 72 camaro and i need at least 2 1/4 in primaries out to 4in collector.

      i have Pro 1 heads that are RAISED RUNNERS which seems to be a issue.

      I have a set of 2 1/4 headers for a 67-69 camaro or 68-72 Nova ( hate to cut em up but it beats spending 1200 or so on a set of Lemons or stahl)

      Any help would be apriciated.

      Burns has some good writeups on their website.

      One thing I'll warn you about when modifying an existing set of headers is be very aware of where you make your cuts. Make damn sure you can get to the modified sections to weld all the way around.

      Personally, I find building headers from scratch much easier than modifying them. If money wasn't an issue, I would strongly recommend you build your own.

      Money is always a issue LOL
      not that i cant spend it , i just hate to !!!

      I see your point about maybe being hard to reach a area to weld though .

      Thats cool John .
      Looks like some fun angles on theose headers.

      I'll check out the Headers by Ed Kits and see if i can get something going there but its has to be 2 1/4 at least.

      Headers

      As Matt metioned , burns is a good choice also you can get bends from SPD in Sacromento, and Chris Alston has some 16g HD bends at chassisworks, I asume you will be welding with a TIG process?? If so I use about 18-20amps on SS 030 SS rod with a purge set-up and on mild steel I use about 20-25 amps with Cronatron 333T rod 030.........Rhys FCRacing
