Burns has some good writeups on their website.
One thing I'll warn you about when modifying an existing set of headers is be very aware of where you make your cuts. Make damn sure you can get to the modified sections to weld all the way around.
Personally, I find building headers from scratch much easier than modifying them. If money wasn't an issue, I would strongly recommend you build your own.-Matt
