I've gone to Olympic Powder Coating. No complaints. I've also had ceramic coating done at Embee, and they do powdercoating too.

I've used Pyramid Powder Coating for subframe, inner front wheel wells, UCA/LCAs, etc. and am about to try Andrews Powder Coating for some brake calipers, etc.

They are both auto parts friendly. They and many others are listed here: http://www.at-la.com/biz/@la-coat.htm

I only use Embee Performance Coatings in Santa Ana, CA..

They are one of the largest around and they do EVERYTHING from powder, to thermal to annodizing.. Ask for Jeff (the thermal side) or David. Tell I sent ya!

I too have used Pyramid, but have not had good results.

Action Finishes in Sylmar has done four great jobs for me. Steve Cruz is the guy to talk to.

Have Action or Embee done brake calipers or other machined items where the masking is critical for either of Carl or Steve? I'm looking elsewhere because I also would not whant to entrust my calipers to Pyramid.

Embee did my calipers.. I have never had a problem there. Just be very clear what areas you want masked off.

They are the biggest operation around and even do stuff for aerospace. Ask for David or Jeff and tell them Steve Rupp from PHR sent you.

What I've done in the past is mask the part using blue painters tape and take a picture. Attach the picture to the part. The coater will need to remove the tape for proper cleaning, and the picture will help the shop guys know what you want done. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Most good coaters know the basics (piston bore, threads, etc.) but if you want something custom, specific instructions are needed.

Action has done good work, both standard and better stuff, for me.
