      Which bbc crate engine?????

Hey guys, I've been searching BIGTIME for a crate engine for my dad and I's Chevelle Build-up, I found a small guy in minnisota (sp) that builds 496 stroker big block chevy putting out 615hp, with a 3 year parts and labor warrenty for $4400. But my dad wants to build the car using high quality parts but is shocked by some of the prices of parts. the motor will be backed by a tko600 and a ford 9, air ride technologies all around, baer track kit, and 18" wheels. Were looking for something in the 600-700 hp range, with 10.5.1 or lower compression. I found the salle-chev superstreet 502 making 620 hp for $8800. Any other suggestions, Shafiroff, World, GM, or any other reputable dealer/builder. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone
      Chris

What motor did you decided to go with? Can you give me contact info for that 496 crate motor in Minnesota for $4400 w/ 3 yr warranty? That sounds almost too good to be true....

      thanks

      Darnit...

Wish I would have known that was for sale... would have snatched that up in a heartbeat. There is a 496 with top shelf parts here at a local shop around here that was pulled out of a chevelle and just sitting there.... makes 675hp and he wants $9k carb to pan.

Helluva a deal you gave someone...
