      Firewall Skin/Cover Install Reccomendation

      Hello,

I'm looking to clean up the firewall on my 68 Firebird. I'm looking at the various skins that are available (smooth, bead rolled etc). What is the recommended process for install?

Obviously need to trim/adjust any feature that is protruding from the firewall. But once it's flat:

-Do you epoxy prime both mating surfaces?
-Do you plug weld a pattern near the perimeter? Or stitch weld the full perimeter?
-Do you need any panel bond in the interior of the panel?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you
      Daryl

On my bird I stich and full welds around the perimeter and used panel adhesive in the center. I painted the underside before applying the adhesive. I grinded some of the welds and applied body filler to smooth some of the edges.
