      TMI seats

Has anyone had any experience with them? I was thinking about a set for my project. I just can’t find anything I like in a OEM seat.

I used some in my wife’s 69 convertible. They were quite comfortable. Quality was good.

Late model Camaro seats aren't too bad. I'm not nuts about the headrests, but I've sat in a few and they are pretty good if you can find a pair cheap.

Other than the TMI on both sides of the seat backs I really like them. I asked about deleting the embroidery and it was an extra $350.00. WTF?

Tighten it till it strips & back it off a quarter turn.

I have used quite a few seats in a number of different builds. While I think the TMI stuff looks great, they are least comfortable seat I have used aside from the stock ones. The seat bottom is a bit short compared to others I have used. And I just feel like i sit ON the seat, rather than in it. I ordered them without headrests because i personally thought they looked terrible. I do miss them on a road trip. I also wish there were more detents in the seat back adjustment. One is just a bit too upright, and the next one is just a tad too far back. Had issues with the brackets as well, seat was tilted forward a bit. I cut & re-welded them to have a slight lean back instead of forward. Still added shims under the front mounts. I'm a smaller guy: 5-10, 175. Seats are such a personal thing. IF you have the opportunity to sit, or even better, drive in a few different ones, I highly suggest it.

I ordered just the frames and foam from TMI without the covers and had my interior guy cover them to match the rest of my interior. Also used just a set of the foams to create custom rear bucket seats. Seats are comfortable.

The ones I've tried were less than what I'd call comfortable. The TMI on the sides looks hideous. Plenty of posts about them though. Some people like them, some don't, about like anything else.
