      Bellhousing Adaptor Plates

Does anyone know of any companies that make bellhousing adaptor plates to bolt an older motor to a newer trans? I'm looking at dropping a 400ci into my 87, but I dont think it will bolt right up to the trans, any ideas? thnx in advance. Also does anyone know if I could fit a 4L60E in there inplace of the 700R4?

Try Advance Adapters or Novak Conversions. They make a ton of stuff for 4x4 engine/trans swaps. For example, I am running a SB 350 mated to a Ford T18 in my Jeep.

      Maybe they can help.

If you want to bolt a Pontiac engine to a modern overdrive trans, then the simple solution is to use a 200R4 from a Buick Grand National. They can be built very strong and have a BOP bellhousing pattern.

Give a call to Bowler Transmissions. I just spoke to Mark there about an adapter for a 4L80E to BOP block. Says an adapter for that application is about $240. Crank to flexplate spacer, bellhousing dapter and hardware. Hopefully he has one for your application as well.
