Ridetech Muscle Bar
I'm having a little problem with my Muscle Bar. It's on a 1970 Nova with the front and rear coil over system and Tru Turn from ridetech. I'm finding that the 3/8 flange bolts where the arm bolts to the bar are shearing off. I autocross about once a month and when the first ones broke I'm sure it's because they started to back out. That's a shocker when you're in a fast turn and the sway bar arm breaks off! I tried blue Loctite and am now using red Loctite to hold the bolts from backing out. These bolts are on my checklist for every event and I just found another broken one that wasn't backed out and looked tight until I checked it. When I did the bolt head fell off.
The car weighs 3250 lbs without my 215 lbs in the seat so it's not that heavy. Is anyone else seeing this problem? Thanks.

Very important to keep those bolts tight. If the bolts get even a little loose the jackhammer effect will shear the bolts. Loctite is certainly required. At this point the threaded holes may have become wallowed out to the point that proper torque is impossible. We can inspect and fix if you like. Speak with Darren at our shop. [email protected].
