they just have to settle for a fox body Mustang or some other cool car. Everyone can't have a 69 Camaro or a 65 GTO..I just bought a pretty decent 69 Mustang fastback the other day for 5K..could have made a pretty nice car out of it for another 2,500 and some of my labor..also bought a 69 X-33 Z-28 original Ralley Green car..numbers matching trans, and 12 bolt rear..no motor..needed one quarter and pans to make a nice car..$10K.. Goodmark does the sheetmetal work now at their shop in Cleveland Ga. They're reasonable, fast and do very decent work. The cars are out there. Just get in and don't whine about some rich guy running the price up. Whoever heard of anyone whining about stocks going up. Only one's doing it are the ones who didn't buy stock when it was lower. What about the guy that has a collector car. Is it fair to wish his car won't go up in value so somebody else can afford one? I don't think so. when a 69 Camaro goes up, the 67 and 68 go up too..so does the 70 71..even the later 70's and 80's are moving..Johnny Hunkins red Camaro he's doing in PHR is going to look pretty good once they change those ugly ask bumpers. Even the later Malibus look good with a few modifications to bumpers etc. Rich guys are absolutely good for this sport overall..I buy and sell these cars..who wants something that won't increase in value? There's two sides to every story..I side with the values continuing to go up. They've gone up too fast on some cars. There will absolutely be a price decline in them in the near future. Once the stock market gets consistent, interest rates climb higher, people will have more choices where to put their money..you will see the speculators jump off..be ready to buy

12-30-2005 #2I realize that everyone isn't Investment conscious....
Most or many here want their 69 Camaro for other Potential reasons.
Me Included.......
But I must point out that Bob's final remarks pretty much ' Slam ' home
the Reality that the markets will change. Realizing that unlike the 80's
Muscle Car buying frenzy, this one isn't as full of Speculators as was
the last. Many are Baby Boomers for whom where not in the Buying
Market at that time, ( could not afford ) and are now buying their
dream cars. But then again, not forgetting the Investment Conscious
Buyer.
As I stated...Bob's final remarks " really Mean more " than you think.
Save your Money, because I'm pretty sure your going to be Pleasantly
surprised with in the next two years. Markets will change, and those
"Prices" will change to. " The real Value Cars will rise to the top ",
and the remainder will settle into their Proper Value perspectives.

I'm personally investing many hours each week paying close attention
to many selling sources. Their is an enourmous amount of over
inflation on many cars, but that will change. Save your Money, and be
ready to buy....because it's comming. Perhaps sooner than you might
think.
Lets not forget the Future Potential of those " NEW " cars which might
be making it to market over the next 2-3 years. A New Challenger??, a
New Camaro Z28??. Many things are going to determine, and have
influence on, the Direction and Value of Future Markets.
As its already been stated, the Planets have aligned, and many Cool
things are going to come to fruition. Who would have thought all
these Years later, that we would be embarking down a NEW Muscle Car
Decade, or even two Decades of Horse Power Wars all over again.
These new Cars, if they actually come to fruition, will change the
Markets. It will make those " Real Value Cars " Priceless, but help
shape the True Value of those " Clones & Reproductions ". Its those
Clones and Reproductions which will be where You spend the Money
you Saved. Will the end Value be more than Before??, most likely, but
their Value & Cost Factor will be far less than those Over-Inflated
numbers you currently see now.
I'm personally " Excited " to see what it all Shapes up to be.....
Good Times ahead......
Enjoy...
Sincerely,
PAIN
12-30-2005 #3I think that there may well be a "bubble burst" on the horizon for some of the high end muscle cars. I would be uncomfortable if I invested several million in a Hemi Cuda Convertible, 500k in an LS6 Chevelle SS Convertible, 500k in a ZL1, or 300k in a Hemi Superbird. I feel that if and when the market busts on these high end cars you will see the speculators getting out of the market like rats off a burning ship. I will be ready and waiting to buy a few more cars to fill out my flock.
On the flip side, a rising tide raises all ships.
JimThe difference between an environmentalist and a developer is that a developer wants to build a house in the woods, an environmentalist already has one.
