Speedtech vs Bmr Torque Arm Rear suspension 70 Rs

Trying to decide between speedtech's torque arm kit with the dutchman ford 9" and the Bmr torque arm kit with a 12 bolt or ford 9". I was planning on the speedtech kit but just found Bmr. Whats everybodys thoughts on it? Ive already decided against the Detroit speed torque arm kit due to fabrication time, or less someone on here can truly convince me other wise? I'm to the point or past and really need to order the rear suspension and front subframe... was planning on going full speedtech but its going to be roughly 16k. Seems like i can save a little with Bmr? Thank you everybody for you input!

Yes you can! I didn't on mine, but you can go up & over the Housing

The comparison is tough, ours is a much simpler system and the minimal amount of welding involved should not deter anyone from the install. There is about 12" on each side to weld and can be done with a 110v welder. (when buying the rear end housing as the OP mentioned) the Panhard is certainly not a lesser locating devise, it is easier to adjust and has less parts to deal with. Our roll center has been designed to handle all spring rates from 250 Street to 600lb full race, based on your suspension strategy.
When you look at the pan hard bar and the length of it there is 1/16" of side movement of the rear end in 4" of travel, so to compare that to the watts it is insignificant .
We have a new tuned rear sway bar available that we worked with Ron Sutton on. if you are paying attention to a couple of the guys who are running the complete Extreme system in First and Second Gens they are getting dialed in and are FAST.
3" Exhaust is common place with all the torque arm installs we and most customers have done.
We have lost count of how many we have sold, all I know is the welders can hardly keep up.
if you are thinking of going with the Extreme front subframe the torque arm is a natural match. and if your relally serious we have a ad on tuning package set up with Ron sutton to ge the car 100% dialed in

I have a speedtech tq arm and absolutely love it. I would buy again in a heartbeat. Not to say the BMR stuff isn't nice, speedtech wins my vote though.

In the end, both are great companies and both have decent customer service and both products do work.

The welding doesn't deter me at all in fact I would prefer it that way. I have a 220v mig for chassis work. Even if I went with the Bmr setup I would weld it in.. I'm sure I'll stick with the original plan and go all speed tech...Since you have the full package with the Extreme subframe and torque arm set up. Do you guys do any sponsors for well built cars? Forgeline wheels ls3 Whipple anvil carbon fiber. Working on getting renderings done now... I see speed tech always looking for cars to join them at car shows...

I have the BMRs full suspension front and rear... and have a full 3" stainless exhaust all the way out the back.

I can't comment on the other rear torque arms in this thread, and I'm sure they are all good suspension systems.

But from my personal experience BMR is fully bolt on, easily adjustable, rides better than my stock suspension, and CAN accommodate a full 3" exhaust with tailpipes out the back.
