      67-69 Camaro/Firebird difference?

Can anyone tell me if the front brakes on a 67-69 Firebird are different from the 67-69 Camaro? I thought they were identical but noticed that Wilwood does not list any kits for a 67-69 Firebird. I also noticed that Precision Brakes has different part numbers for each. If there is a difference can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks Fred A

I have seen posts about Firebirds having smaller bolt holes on the top hole. On drum cars, this is a brake Anchor pin hole, on Disc cars the boss is .610" shorter it holds the brake mounting bracket. Firebird owners have ordered Camaro disc kits and found the top hole to be too large. A spacer ring around the bolt should fix the problem.

That would seem to fit my experience. I picked up about three sets of drum spindles from a local restoration shop, and the only set that had good bearing surfaces had a different top boss than the set originally off my Camaro (which were also bad) and the other two sets. I machined a spacer so that the mounting bolt for my disk brake bracket wouldn't be unsupported laterally.

I ordered a 67/69 Camaro Superlite 6 kit for my 68 Bird last year. The kit comes with several spacers. Didn't had any trouble mounting them on.

Thanks everyone for the info. I am planning on ordering a Wilwood kit for my 69' Firebird and wanted to make sure it would fit.
