finally got a replacement car

[sam 74]

a little over a year ago i lost my Olds to a fire caused by a ruptured fuel line. i had a really hard time figuring out what to replace it with, this is what i ended up deciding on.
it has a 5.9 magnum swap, runs great and gets 15 mpg.

Classy!!

Very cool, what are your plans for it? Whats it got for a drivetrain?

[sam 74]

drive train is from a 94-5 dodge ram 1500, the motor is the 5.9 magnum with auto trans. the rear dif is stock with 3.90 gears. as for plans i'm going to refresh the interior and paint, do some small motor mods like headers, an intake, and a reflash of the ecm. mostly i just want to drive it and take the kids out to shows and on trips with it.

Looks like a fun ride!

Makes about the same mileage as my Dakota RT with the same drivetrain.

I give up. What year, make and model is it.? I like it, very cool and unique. I can imagine it dropped a couple inches with some wild wheels.

[sam 74]

its a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook (P23), its already dropped a few inches any lower and i'd hit everything on the road. i currently have Crager S/S wheels on it but i may change them or just install moon discs over them, not sure yet.

That sure is one nice looking car!

[sam 74]

i'm pretty happy with it over all, but it needs a few things done, i'm starting small with the radio and some interior lights as it doesn't have them, then i'm going to look into a rear end swap because it still has the factory rear in it with 3.90 gears but it whines a bit and i want to upgrade to something a little stronger for the planned motor upgrades.

[sam 74]

just thought i'd throw an update in, i just upgraded the anti sway bar to a 1 inch, the car had a 9/16 or 5/8 bar on it and it felt like you were going to fall out the windopw if you took a turn to fast. the 1 inch bar is a major improvement, the car actually corners pretty flat now. i had to make brackets for the bar which took a little longer than expected but its done and working well, now i have to start on rebuilding the 9 inch rear i got to replace the stock rear.

[sam 74]

Hey everyone, its been a while since i posted here, so i though I'd give a quick update, I decided on turbo charging the motor. I wanted to get some more power out of it and be a bit different. Everyone wants to run Chevy motors in these cars nowdays so I'm keeping the 5.9 and adding a turbo to it. here are a few pics.

What model number Griffin radiator is that?

[sam 74]

there is no part number on it, but i believe it was a universal fit.

[sam 74]

I found the paper work om the rad. the number is 1-25182-x and it is a universal fit.

[sam 74]

honestly i don't remember, i'll have to look for the number on it and get back to you.

What type of fuel line burst and where. Fire is my fear

[sam 74]

it was nylon braded hose, i don't remember the manufacturer as there were 3 different brands on the car. the line opened up near the frame at the firewall and sprayed the header and ignited. after the fuel ignited the fire went up the firewall and burned my oil filter relocation lines and that made the fire impossibe to get out with an extinguisher.
