Yeah. There is a hump so it's not a flat bed but still plenty of room for what I need.

Nice work I watched your first build, my original plan was like you use the whole crown vic frame but in NY nothing is as nice and clean as where you are, love the basically rust free f 100 you find. Swapping to a five speed, wont be that hard I'm running a t-45 behind my coyote with a drive shaft from a crown vic. but my engine is set back an 1.5 inches from stock. Will comedown to if your donor was a p71 or civilian the cop cars had a longer tail shaft on the tranny. I think yours is a cop car as no pats to deal with in the wiring.

Yeah, mine's a P71...keeping the wiring nice & simple. Definitely want to do a stick one of these soon.

Ha! That's hilarious! That was my old job

      Anyway...moving on from that!

      Cab mount progress.

Although these holes kinda lined up they were about 2" too far forward.
Other people talked about dremelling them out but I couldn't get it to work to where I like the position for the front wheel in the wheel well. The wheel was just too far forward.

      So another solution was needed.

Now onto the rear mounts today.

That looks like a better solution, and relatively simple as well. Looking forward to the next episode.

Some people here have interesting jobs . . .

I bought a 2009 Crown Vic a few weeks back (106k, from Napa, CA cops), and have been driving it for the air conditioning. The seats are like garage sale furniture, no integrity whatsoever, but that's not really why you get one of these cars. The later ones have very good steering and brakes, and the rear ends do not get out of step very easily (thanks to the Watt's link/outboard shocks/wide track). Combine these qualities with a relatively stiff frame (which could be made more so very easily with a welder and/or a unibody approach), and you have a nice, cheap, massive upgrade to pretty much anything built in the '60s.

I'll be tracking mine at Thunderhill in a couple of weeks, partly just to be the really annoying guy. Perhaps this will push me closer to sinking myself into yet another project I don't need . . .

Keep the good stuff coming, O.P.!

Yeah I'm going to be stiffening this one a little. I think I'll triangulate the can mount to the rear of the frame which will also give me exhaust hanger mounts.

The upgrade for an F series truck is miraculous!

      Cab crossmember is 90% done!

      Thank you kindly! Much appreciated.

Very intrigued how the new truck will look...should be about 4" higher than this:

They are called Plumb Bob here also.

Looks good! Score on the parts at the Junk yard! You wont find that stuff in our Pic A Parts around here. If you do find anything that old, it will be completely rusted out and not much left.

Got a little bit done today.
Moved the radiator back just under 2", chopped the frame rails & started to mock up the inner fenders.
