Finally got my trutrac. Gearing is the next obstacle, I'll be running a 400hp sbc with a 700r4 on a 18" wheel with a 40 series tire of anyone has recommendations. I decided to pull the old 350/th350 this weekend and to start degreasing and undercoating the frame and under the body. The rear end is going off to get the ring and pinion installed soon. I will more than likely be running the stock axles seeing that I won't be making any crazy hp. I also got my shock brackets for the front from cpp. Name: image.jpg

A lot will depend on your overall tire diameter. If you're going to be in the 26.5"-28" diameter, 3.73's are about perfect. It will have you in the 2150-2350 rpm range at 70mph. Taller tire, 4.10's, smaller tire 3.42's. Having had a 700R4 in my first '68 C10, which had 4.10's and 28" tall tire, with first gear ratio of the 700R4, I could smoke the tires at will in first. These have a deep first gear so you have to be careful not to go too deep with your rear end gears as 1st becomes completely useless.
