I got an update finally! It's a very small one though. I have been slacking big time on working on the Bug. So anyways, I want to finally put in all the side windows. The one thing that has been holding me back is the gas filler. Before, I would have to pop the hatch, go in through the rear side window and fill it up. Big pain in the butt. I finally got around to installing a real filler neck for it. Didn't want it on the outside cause I couldn't figure out a good spot for it. So it's now in the firewall. Should work. Now I can put the windows back in. Just got to put some hose clamps on it and I can call it a day.

Good spot for it. Keeps the exterior clean looking.

I just hope it's not too big of a pain to fill up. There should be room to get the nozzle in there but I have yet to go to the gas station and try. Either way, it's better then how it was before.

      It looks good.

One thing to watch though. Is that blue hose silicone? I asked the owner at my local Earls fitting and hose shop about using silicone hose for a fuel fill. They said it isn't rated for fuel. So, you may want to check how the fuel affect those hoses.

Jetfixr - I believe you are correct. Oil and fuel are supposedly a no go with silicone hose. I did not have a 90° rubber hose to use so I just used a silicone piece from my scrap pile. It will be replaced with a rubber hose eventually. Ill just keep an eye on it for the time being.

Even though it isn't fuel rated, it will take along time to deteriorate to point having an issue. Considering fuel isn't on/in it all time.

Bringing back this thread from the dead again for another small update. I am back to working on this thing! Got less then a month before the kid arrives so I want to get it done before then. We all know I wont have time after he arrives.

Step one - Order more parts

      - TMI door panels
      - 1 piece side window conversion kit
      - Billet window crank handles

Completing the doors is pretty much the last thing I need to do. After that, I have decided its going up for sale on BAT. I have been doing a lot of thinking and selling it will be best. Its just too far gone in terms of considering it a comfortable driver. I want something that I can drive any day of the week that is still a blast and its just too much work to make that happen with the Bug. Its a very fun car, dont get me wrong but just not what I want at the moment. Having said that, I already have my eyes on a different car. Something a bit newer, more practical, has AC and will be a beast on the track.

How about another update? New track car arrived today. Should be a whole new driving experience compared to the bug.

Update! I drove the Bug! First time in nearly a year.... Just had to put some gas in it and it was good to go. Still runs great. Finally passed up the 500 mile mark on the build. Ya 500 miles in about 3 years.... I am still planning on selling it sometime. Just dont know when.

Looks fantastic. I keep saying the same thing about my Cougar, but the damn thing is so fun, it is hard to get motivated to sell it. Besides, nobody seems interested in it. That's the problem with not building Camaros.
