4 1/2 was pretty close on my 17x8, maybe 1/2 inch from hitting the upper. Fronts were close to the fender lips. Front lips were trimmed as well

After letting the paint cure for 3 weeks panels started making their way on.

Using an early 70's mustang mini console.

Herculiner rolled on and sprayed with black and gray spatter paint on top. Make sure you use a coat of clear on top of the spatter paint or it will easily blister with a little water. It was done before the base was shot.

Ordered a Fitech EFI and setup my new tank for an aeromotive phantom 340 intank.

Sweet! Have you put the tank in place, does the pump clear the floor? I'm ordering my FI Tech hopefully next week.

Hey Dave I haven't installed the tank yet but it looks very close. I'm thinking of getting some flat stock and welding them to the tank as spacers to give me a little extra room so the lines don't get pinched. I won't run the tank until my Fitech setup comes in at the end of the month.

Trunk is staying put unless mini tubs make their way on. I test fit the tank and didn't get any rubbing. It still looks like a really tight fit. I was going to weld 1/2 inch tabs to add a little extra space but I found some dried out inner fender rubber weather strip and cut it in half then glued it to the tank. Looks better than it sounds. With the 76 tank all you need is longer carriage bolts and it bolts up just fine.

Burned a little metal and setup my shock mounts. Not the prettiest welds but should hold up to any abuse.

man when i was 16 an old lady down the street had a maverick for sale- 6cyl mint condition! i was getting ready to buy it when my dad talked me into buying a beat up old Fox body mustang from his buddy. Who knows, if he hadnt i may have been building one of these now- love the grabber blue and carbon looks awesome!
